Chinese documents, 1766-1935
This series consists of a wide range of business, legal and official Chinese documents dating mainly from the nineteenth century, particularly from the first half of the century. Many of the papers concern or are connected to Jardine, Matheson & Co. and its members. There are also a few items in English, French, Japanese, Parsi, Portuguese and Spanish (in the catalogue the documents are in Chinese unless otherwise stated).

Lease of Victoria Lot 199, 1850
A copy of a lease by the Spanish padre to Nq ah Woon and Lo ah Ling (also spelt Lo aling) of Lot No. 199 in Queen's Road, Victoria, Hong Kong, for a period of thirty years from this date for the construction of houses on the property, 1 February 1850. There is also a second copy of the lease giving the text in both Chinese and Spanish.

Miscellaneous papers and artefacts, circa 1770-1969 (mostly nineteenth and twentieth centuries)
This series divides into four parts: L1-6 contain original papers of governments and other non-commercial organisations; L7-10 consist of maps, plans, photographs, artwork and newspapers, mainly relating to Jardine, Matheson & Co., but including some general material; L11-13 contain secondary material regarding the company and its archive; and L14-16 are miscellaneous papers and artefacts unconnected to the other series in the archive.

Statements on signatures of De Otadui and Moore, 1840
A sheet containing copies of three statements (the last in Spanish) certifying to the veracity of the signatures of Eugenio de Otadui and J. Moore, U.S. Vice Consul for Manila and the Philippine Islands, 1840. The document also contains copies of the statements in Chinese.
